In an action met with heartfelt emotion, the Board of Directors last night unamimously passed a resolution to name the basketball court at Fife High School "McCrossin Court."

The official ceremony will occur at halftime of the December 6th game. Tipoff for that game is 4 PM. The 1987 basketball team will also be honored at halftime. This team was coached by John McCrossin. A 5th Quarter celebration will be held immediately after the game at the Right Spot for Fife Alumni to celebrate both the 1987 team and their coach.

Here's the full content of the Resolution No 14-18:

WHEREAS, Fife School District wishes to recognize the contributions of John McCrossin for his many years of dedicated service to the students of the district; and

WHEREAS, John McCrossin was first hired by the district as a teacher and coach in 1982; and

WHEREAS, John McCrossin became superintendent of the Fife School District in July of 2013; and

WHEREAS, John McCrossin used the basketball court as a place of continuous teaching and learning for staff and students regardless of the position he held; and

WHEREAS, John McCrossin spent much of his time coaching students in the sport of basketball; and

WHEREAS, John McCrossin forever became a student of the game of basketball; and

WHEREAS, John McCrossin passed away August 26, 2014;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Fife School District Board of Directors hereby honors John's great efforts by naming the basketball court in the Fife High School gym "McCrossin Court."
